All's Quiet on the Western Front…

Sorry it’s been a bit! We’ve been fine! Just sweating the summer out and looking forward to Fall already! 
We got a really awesome getaway on the 4th from a town called Banner Elk, which is just south of Boone NC. Planning ended up being pretty slip-shot (imagine that 
) but we had a huge stroke of luck and got to stay at a simply amazing labor of love that was both rustic and extravagant at the same time! The local hiking rocked and we got to catch up with friends that were also vacationing in the area! PERFECT!

What else? The infamous dog bite of 2008 is healing well! I actually ran into the owners this morning and it turns out they didn’t get rid of the offending dog (which pretty much means nothing to me since I don’t walk in their section of the neighborhood anymore), either way it’s fine. I sincerely wanted it to be their decision anyways and I’m glad it ended up being that way!
Hopefully it doesn’t happen again.
The garden’s been REAL good to us this summer! Rain’s been somewhat plentiful and, when the bugs aren’t feasting, we’ve gathered quite the formidable bounty! Seriously, it’s been great to grow our own food again this year!
So I guess that’s about it (though I’m pretty sure I’m forgetting something)! We got some great R&R and it was nice to spend the holiday in the mountains!
