Sweet jesus! It’s the end of July already!?

I genuinely hate that I tend to add monthly updates to this blog, but it seems that that’s the road I’m on.  Oh well, I guess it’s better than NO updates I suppose.

Okay! So what’s been up?

Mel:

Work’s been quite hellacious for her due to the annual financial cycles that typically plague her department.  But, while it’s been a bit to shoulder, I think the gentle tap of “Fall around the corner” has been kind.  Not to mention some top secret cool news that  is about to prop it’s head, as well as a huge project coming to a close (trust me, it’s stunningly beautiful), life for Melinda hasn’t ALL been rough!  More can be gleaned from her blog at: purlingplans.com.

Tad:

The “Side Bidness”  seems to have finally taken root! With that fact, I have officially gauged what is “too much” for me. :D

I love that I’m helping the right kind of folks that I genuinely want to help, I’m just glad that’s it’s been self-regulated enough that I can keep it in check.  Is “too much of good thing” possible?  Certainly!  But I’m really glad it’s all been at my custom, self-induced method.  I have a mean and, therefore, I have a method.  Done deal. We can all move forward! :)   In short, I’m immensely grateful and humbled by it all.

What else?

The garden!  I really wish we had more “in between” photos but alas, we don’t. One problem we encountered though was was with our beloved tomato buckets: after a few year of direct sun and dampness, were quite literally falling apart!

So, what are two novice gardeners to do? Well, “necessity is the mother of invention”! So we developed a way to use a minimal amount of new lumber, some galvanized bolts, screws, washers and rope to create a cheap new platform for our buckets to sit upon and, so far, it’s worked great!

If you’re genuinely curious about how we accomplished it, feel to contact us in the comment section below and I’ll send you a sketch of what we did!  It cost a little over 10 bucks (for 3 buckets).  Not bad!

That’s about it for now!  Not much more to report other than what’s above!  All things considered… it’s been a good summer!

We hope the same has been for you all!

All the best,

Tad (and Mel)
