Meetings, Milestones, Magazines, Music and Getting Ready for the Holidays…

Hey everyone!  It’s been a pretty productive autumn and with the holiday season hitting next week, I thought I’d drop a line and update everyone on what we’ve been up to.  Big and small!

First up? Milestones.  A couple of huge things finally came to fruition this month.  Two came for Mel in the form of finishing a pattern for the Sanguine Gryphon!  It took a good bit of time, but it was all worth it!  It’s a beautiful sweater, it’s an original and Mel couldn’t be more proud of it  (nor could I)!  The pattern will be available soon on Gryphon’s site.  If you want some sneak peeks though, look no further than here.

Mel also got tapped to be in the Disco Underworld Gold edition!  Not sure if you caught her post on this a while back, but every year the populace votes on their favorite stories captured in this wonderful e-zine and these favorite stories then get put into an annual print edition.  Kind of a best of the best!  Our copy should be reaching us very soon!  If you’d like to purchase a copy you can visit the official site here and grab a copy for yourself!

On the Tad end of things, I’m very proud to announce that my friend John and I have officially completed the first draft of a screenplay that we’ve been working on for the last 2 years.  It’s a character thriller based in a classic horror back drop and we’re pretty damn proud of it!  So what’s next? Second draft! LOL!  We tighten everything up and then we start to shop it around all the while creating a graphic novel, shot for shot, on what we’ve written.

“But what if no one buys it Tad?  What then?”  We’ll shoot it ourselves.

Interested?  Stay tuned.  Because if we go this route, we’re going to need A LOT of help!

On a much smaller note.  I’ve started a much smaller Tumblr project in digital photography called “Bits and Pieces…”.  Feel free to check it out if you’re interested!

This month has also been a great one for music!  Chief amongst them, a show at the Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro  NC, headlined by Blind Pilot with a killer the opener of The Low Anthem.  Just an amazing show, very intimate folky goodness, AND we got pretty close to the stage which is always a treat.  Both of these bands are unbelievably talented and I definitely encourage you to check them out before they explode!

Lastly, Mel and I have been creating traditions for most of our incredible life together and one of them has become that weekend morning “meeting” where you sit down over coffee and an awesome breakfast and discuss the big stuff like “where are we going?” and “what’s worth getting to that point?”.  I encourage this situation for anyone that would care because well, even at it’s most uncomfortable moments, it always sheds light on where you want to be before you get to be too old to figure that our on your own.  And, at the very least, you get to spend time with who you love one morning out of the week!

That’s it!  I’ll drop something before the holidays, but it’ll be small.  Have a safe and warm one with the folks that matter the most to you!

All the best,

Tad (and Mel)
