Spring!!!

Whew… I didn’t think it was going to make it to be honest, but it appears to finally be here. The temps are finally in the 60’s and 70’s more often than not and the sun is luxuriously cozy! It’s the time of year where I need my coat in the morning and leave it hanging on my bag in the afternoon waiting for Mel to pick me up.

Everyone seems as alive as anything and everything with roots! All smiles and beautiful petals respectively. We’ll be planting potatoes this weekend (I’m gonna give a shot at building a potato box!) and that will inevitably lead to the the yearly prepping of the beds!

The warmer temps also brought the first bottle of my homebrew being opened! It still has a way to go taste-wise (it’s gotta sit a bit longer) but I’ve loved tasting a few every other day! ;) I honestly can’t believe I didn’t pick up this hobby earlier.

The days are longer and so are our good spirits. We can’t help it! It’s totally infectious!

We’ve always loved fall, but spring here in NC is easily neck in neck with autumn.

Hope the buds are popping out where you are!

Tad and Melinda

Cool pictures as usual Tad! And I can be happy you are in spring because it appears we are there too (though snow predicted tonight)! Not quite 60s
and 70s…50s in general, but flowers and buds are popping up…a full 6 weeks earlier than last year! Crazy!

I’ve been thinking garden thoughts too and will be trying out some new things as well (carrots, beets, radishes, leeks to name a few) even though we are still a few weeks away from safely planting even our ‘cool’ veggies. Good luck with the taters…have almost cooked through our insane 100 pound haul from last year and I’ve got some set aside ready to go into the ground as soon as I can!

      Thanks Rachel!

Yeah this weather is such a change up from what we had JUST last week. I’m not complaining though. I’m just grateful it’s here!

We tried carrots last year and it went pretty damn poorly. LOL! They all came out fat and stubby. Kinda like orange beets. Oh well what are you going to do! I hope the potatoes come grow like crazy though! If they don’t, it’s not too much of a loss, they weren’t that much of an investment.

Hope the spring weather comes back quickly for you guys!
