This Sunday found us in Wake Forest hanging with my Mother on Mom’s Day at a deli near “The Factory”. Mom picked the place and we all ate outside with beers, warm cups of coffee and tea, and delicious hot sandwiches. Thanks Mom for hanging in there, for facing MS bravely, and for taking us into Durant Park for some quiet time with you. A lyric comes to mind and while it’s about love lost, it applies to you as well. It’s from the song “Sinking Slowly” by Glen Hansard, and it’s just a beautiful tune. The lyric goes like this:

“Take this sinking boat and point it home
We’ve still got time
Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice
You’ve made it now

Love you Mom.

Norsk Strikkedesign CoverMel scored a bit of a holy grail of knitting books, it’s called “Norsk Strikkedesign: A Collection from Norway’s Foremost Knitting Designers”. I didn’t realize this but word has it that it’s going out of print and has become incredibly hard to find. Amazon had it somehow and Mel grabbed a copy! It made it here, and to see the smile on her face as she cracked the spine for the first time was priceless. Christmas in May I swear!

What else?

Spring pointed a gun at our tiny veggie patch in the back yard and the plants have truly reached for the sky! They are huge compared to when we first planted them and Mel and I plan on building supports for them this weekend. I couldn’t be more pleased! We’re seriously doing it folks! Can’t wait for the first round of veggies to come up.

Should be any week now!

That’s about it! Should have a little more this weekend along with pics.

All the best to you,

Tad
