Veggie Beds Cubed, Mel’s PurlingPlans Evolves and Little Tweaks…
Hey everybody!
So this is more of a “sneak peak” at what’s to come in the “tadandmel.com-verse” then anything else. I meant to put something up this weekend, but we’ve been out straight and, embarrassingly enough, we literally haven’t had the energy to post.
So, what’ve we been up to? Lotsa stuff outside and a quite a bit inside.
First up! Introducing, and just in time for sowing; our third veggie garden bed!!
Here it is:
What’s a little different about this bed is that I took an obscene amount of video while I built it and I’m sincerely hoping that it pays off in the creation of the first “DIY Adventures” video chapter!! I’m a total amateur at all of this, but I have tons of footage and I’m going to make an attempt at using it! It’ll basically be a video about how to make a simple raised garden bed, but with a little tadandmel flair.
So keep your eyes peeled! I’m hoping to have it done by this weekend!
Next up! Mel’s “Summer Sky” pattern has been liberated! Magknits.com, the website that purchased and published Melinda’s design, has been closed and therefore, under the clause therein, the pattern is “homeless” wandering the internet aimlessly back to Mel, it’s biological mother ;) . So now we’re figuring out a way to redistribute it on her site via an online store through purlingplans.com! We’re (read: “she”) is working on a refined pattern that corrects errors AND adds a little more to boot! It’ll be our first foray into a very fledgling business. So wish us luck, as we’ll be working without a net here.
Seriously, I’m so psyched to give this a go!
Lastly, as far tadandmel.com goes, <design geek warning> I didn’t receive any feedback on the new design, and there have been hundreds of visits in the last month; so I’ll take that as a compliment! :D A few changes I’ve made are merely cosmetic. I’ve made the RSS feed icon bigger, brought up a few font sizes by a couple “px”, carried on the “Times New Roman” font through out the site where appropriate and tweaked our new banner further. It’s not perfect, but I think it’s better. For the love of god though, let me know if you think differently! I work with a lot of designers, but I certainly didn’t go to school for it.</design geek warning>
That’s about it! Big things for sure! Stay tuned!
All the best!
Tad
